19 Percent of Alamance Households Remain Off-Line
Recent statistics gathered by the Greensboro News & Record reveals that 81.1 percent of households in Alamance County have access to the internet. That’s below the national average of 86.6 percent of households; however, it is better than about six years ago, when the Alamance average was 70 percent. The Federal Communications Commissions estimates that 21 million rural Americans do not have access to the internet. The greatest needs for internet service in Alamance are in the northern and southern-most parts of the county.
