99 Percent of Cone Health Employees Receive COVID Vaccine
Officials with Cone Health said more than 99 percent of Cone employees have met the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for all staff. The hospital system manages several area hospitals, including Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. The system employs 13,000 staffers. Of those, 68 chose not to receive the vaccine and have voluntarily left their jobs, Cone CEO Mary Jo Cagle explained. Cone Health gave workers until October 1 to receive the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or the first dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna. All staff were required to provide proof of vaccination by October 7.
