ABSS Teachers Look for Creative Ways to Reach Summer School Students

There are two more weeks left in summer school for students in Alamance Burlington Schools. For some, the summer goal is to help students catch up in classes where distance education and online learning caused them to slip. In other situations, teachers are attempting to ignite a spark that will lead to better study habits during the regular school year. Eighth grade language arts teacher Derek Tang is using Tik Tok and other video platforms in hopes that his students will fall in love with writing. He wants his Turrentine Middle School students to see writing as more than just another assignment. He wants them to see it as a creative outlet they can use to express themselves.
