Alamance County Commissions Cut Property Taxes
Alamance County commissioners decided Monday night to lower the county’s property tax rate by one cent per $100 valuation. The rate is now 66 cents per $100, instead of 67 cents per $100 valuation. The change was made as the commissions accepted a final budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year. To make room for the tax rate reduction, the commissioners turned down some of the increases that the county manager had recommended. Those proposed increases were in funds for the Alamance-Burlington School System, for Alamance Community College and for additional county employees.
