Alamance County Sheriff Office Experiments With Propane
The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with a bio-fuel company, to see how well that fuel works in two county vehicles. The Sheriff deputies are using vehicles that run on a combination of propane and gas. They say the propane gives about the same mileage as regular gas, and the gas part kicks in when the propane runs out. This is a 6 month trial, and when it ends, they say they will sit down and run the numbers, and see which one is best. Supporters claim propane has fewer carbon emissions and reduces the number of oil changes.
