As Expected NC Test Scores Dropped for Students in the Spring

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction released spring 2021 state testing results at Wednesday’s State Board of Education meeting, and – as expected – students did poorly compared to pre-pandemic tests. Nearly 55 percent of the K-12 students who took state-issued standardized exams in reading, math and science failed the tests. Two years ago – in 2019 -- the failure rate was just 41 percent.
