Burlington Parks and Rec Plans Juneteenth Celebration
If you’re still thinking about what to do for Juneteenth this weekend, Burlington Recreation and Parks will be holding a celebration at North Park. The new swimming pool was completed back in September but of course they could not have a big grand opening because of the Governor’s shutdown. So this will be the time for that. They say the North Park pool will be open for regular hours Saturday morning, and then the celebrations will start around 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Around 5 o’clock at the North Park Farmers Market they will start giving away Local Black History boxes for free by vehicle pick-up. They will have a free meal and other treats inside them provided by local black businesses.
June 19th is now officially another federal holiday. President Biden signed it into law yesterday.
