Burlington PD Discusses Drive-By Shooting Pattern
The Burlington Police Department has identified a group of individuals involved in a series of recent shootings within the city. The group’s pattern, according to police, involves stealing vehicles, driving the stolen vehicles to break into other cars with the specific intent to steal firearms. Then the group uses those firearms to shoot into occupied dwellings associated with other known and suspected gang members. Police say these types of shootings have recently taken place along the 500 block of Key Street, the 100 block of Brooks Street, the 700 block of Floyd Street, and the 700 block of Sharpe Road. Burlington Police say many of the suspects involved in these shootings are juveniles. Burlington PD has joined forces with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to increase patrol in the areas that have been targeted.
