Burlington Plans to Replace Link Transit Buses
The Burlington City Council is expected to seek public input on its plans to upgrade the buses in its Link Transit bus system. A public forum has been tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, October 5. City officials have indicated that the bus system’s current nine-bus fleet is aging and is in need of replacement. The latest replacement proposal calls for the city to purchase two electric buses and eight gas-powered buses – three of which would be handicapped accessible. Electric buses are more expensive; however, they are expected to last up to five years longer than gas-powered buses.
