Court to Address Disputes Among Wings to Go Owners
Disputes among the owners of Wings to Go in Burlington have caused the company’s partners to take matters to court. At the center of the arguments is a battle over who is in charge at the popular chicken restaurant, as well as disputes over whether the company’s former president used company funds for personal benefit. The Alamance News first reported on the fact that James Bernard Upchurch Jr. has been charged with felony corporate malfeasance and felony embezzlement of more than $100,000 from the company that owns Wings to Go. Upchurch’s former partners contend that he misused company funds for personal expenses such as hotels, restaurants, entertainment, air travel and private school tuition. The lawsuits claim these expenses occurred from 2015 to 2017, while Upchurch was president of WTG Burlington – Wings To Go’s parent company.
