Duke Energy to Install New Warning Signs at Site of Tubing Tragedy
A Duke Energy spokesperson said that the company plans to install larger warning signs above and below the Dan River dam that was a site of a tragedy last week. A family of nine river tubers went over the dam in Rockingham County last Wednesday, resulting in five deaths. The body of 30-year-old Teresa Villano has not yet been found. Family members revealed that Villano was pregnant at the time of the accident. The search for her body has been suspended today because of the forecast for heavy rain. The search is expected to resume on Wednesday.
