Elon’s Economic Impact More than Doubles in Past 14 Years
Elon University generates $695 million in annual economic impact in North Carolina, according to a new economic impact study conducted by Tripp Umbach, an economic impact consulting firm. The firm also found that Elon sustained more than 7,400 jobs and produced more than $34.6 million in tax revenue in our state. The study examined Elon’s operations from June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020. It had been 16 years since the last comprehensive study of Elon’s economic impact. In 2004, Elon’s was said to generate $243 million to the state.
