Fire Takes the Life of 75-year-old in Brown Summit
Seventy-five-year-old Alvis David Brown died Monday after the home he was in caught fire. Brown was one of three people in the Brown Summit home at the time of the fire. All three were taken to the hospital, and Brown died from his injuries. Firefighters were called to the blaze at about 7:15 Monday morning. The responding firefighters extinguished the flames. Investigators determined the fire was caused by improperly discarded smoking materials in one of the house’s bedrooms. Officials said the fire was accidental.
