First Winners Announced in NC Vaccine Lottery
The first two winners in the North Carolina Vaccine Lottery were announced yesterday. Shelly Wyramon, a teacher from Winston-Salem, was the first winner in the $1 million cash drawing. Vania Martinez, a 14-year-old from Wilmington, was selected to receive the $125,000 college scholarship. There are still six more drawings left in the state's vaccine lottery – three more for a million dollar prize and three more for the scholarship. Adults age 18 and above who have received at least one Covid19 vaccine shot are eligible for the cash drawing. Vaccinated North Carolina students age 12 to 17 are eligible for the scholarship award.
