Graham Police Appeal Order to Release Video of October Protest
Legal counsel for the Graham Police Department filed a motion to appeal and a motion to stay a judge’s decision to release video footage recorded at the Oct. 31 protests in Graham. On June 10, Superior Court Judge Andy Hanford had ordered that the Graham PD and the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office release body camera footage and other recordings produced during the “march to the polls” event in October. That event ended with police using pepper spray and arresting several protestors. The judge’s deadline to release the footage was Friday, June 25. The motion to appeal and motion to stay are expected to be heard in court next week – either on July 7 or July 9.
