Internet Gambling in Alamance County Loses Appeal To NC State Supreme Court
It would appear that those internet gambling operations in Alamance County have finally been closed for good. You might remember, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office along with police in Mebane, Graham and other cities, raided and shut down several such establishments a couple of years ago. Since then, some of those stores have been fighting back, saying there was still an element of skill in whether or not a player won something. Now, the North Carolina State Supreme Court has ruled it is more of a chance than a skill and is therefore illegal. The internet gambling businesses will remain closed.
