Man with 57 Outstanding Warrants Goes from Hospital to Alamance Jail
Yesterday, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office released details of some carnage that took place on Maple Avenue Sunday. Jaren Jamar Hopkins-Benton of Charlotte was released from Moses Cone Hospital yesterday and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center. Hopkins-Benton was the driver of a vehicle that attempted to elude sheriff’s deputies and Burlington Police officers Sunday and crashed into two homes on Maple Avenue. After the crash, it was determined that Hopkins-Benton had 57 outstanding warrants from various law enforcement agencies including Raleigh, Durham, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Fayetteville, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg. The Alamance Sheriff’s office charged him with six additional crimes related to Sunday’s incident.
