Mebane’s Lake Michael to Have Fewer Trout This Fall
Fishermen at Lake Michael in Mebane typically are thrilled to find a plethora of trout in the lake this time of year. That’s because staff from the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission typically stop by the lake during the first week in November and stock Lake Michael with trout for the winter season. However, flooding in the western part of our state earlier this year flooded a hatchery there, preventing the Wildlife Commission from providing as many trout this fall. The Mebane Recreation and Parks Office sent out an apology to its residence via Facebook.
