Natural Gas Prices Expected to be Up this Winter
The cost to heat your home is expected to be higher this year. That’s according to those who pay close attention to the Natural Gas industry. Natural gas prices are up because of strong natural gas demand last winter coupled with slower than anticipated production this year. That’s according to Richard Meyer, vice president of the American Gas Association. Also, the public utility commission in North Carolina approved a rate hike to cover the cost of safety and infrastructure improvements. That rate increase goes into effect November 1. The average residential customer in North Carolina is expected to see an increase of $11.34 per month. Meyer said now is a great time to make sure your home is as energy efficient as it can be.
