NC Senators Hear Details of Bill that Would Legalize Medical Marijuana
North Carolina Senators held a hearing Wednesday on Senate Bill 711, a bill that would legalize medical marijuana. Called the North Carolina Compassionate Care Act, the bill would only legalize medical marijuana for people with serious, debilitating health conditions, including cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV, Parkinson’s disease, and ALS. A physician must provide written certification for people seeking access. The bill is not expected to be voted on this week but will continue through additional committee hearings.
