New Mobile Library is Focus of Friday Celebration

Alamance County Public Libraries have planned an official kick-off celebration for the use of its new mobile library. That celebration will take place Friday, October 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Fairchild Community Center on Graham-Hopedale Road in Burlington. The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting, family friendly games, an outdoor storytime, and of course tours of the new mobile library. This library contains more than 1,500 items. The county’s plan is to take the book mobile to more than 40 sites throughout the county in a three-week rotation. The portable library will visit schools, retirement communities, parks, community centers and a variety of neighborhoods.
