Panther Voice Mick Mixon to Retire to His Farm in Alamance County
According to RaleighNews.net, the 2021 season will be the last for the Carolina Panthers’ long-time play-by-play personality, Mick Mixon. Mixon is the voice of the Panthers’ radio network, and he plans to retire after just one more season. He has called the Panthers’ games for 17 years. Upon retirement, he said he plans to spend more time on his farm in northern Alamance County. “There’s vegetation that needs to be cut back,” he explained. “There’s a tractor in my future with a lot of implements.” The 62-year-old Mixon said he considered retirement at the end of last season, but he didn’t want the Covid-19 year to be his last in the broadcast booth.
