Piedmont Area Relief Organization Prepares for Afghan Refugees
World Relief Triad – a humanitarian organization based in High Point – is prepared to take in as many as 40 Afghan refugees over the next six months. The organization partners with area churches to help refugees and immigrants rebuild their lives in the United States. For Afghan refugees, they plan to place families in either High Point or Winston-Salem. Approximately 70,000 refugees from Afghanistan are now in the United States. Those individuals will go through an extensive vetting process before they are sent to organizations such as World Relief for help.
