Renovations Continue to Historic School Building in Pleasant Grove
Renovations are almost complete on an historic school building in northeast Alamance County. The McCray School, on Highway 62 in Pleasant Grove, is a 900-square-foot structure that was used by African American students until 1951. Earlier this week, crews installed new windows – an installation that completed the work on the exterior of the building. Now crews will concentrate on the interior, renovating the space so that it can serve as an example of what school was like for students 100 years ago.
