School in Mebane is Latest ABSS School with COVID Cluster
On Friday, officials with the Alamance-Burlington School System announced that Garrett Elementary School in Mebane has a cluster of COVID-19 cases. A school is said to have a cluster of cases when it has five or more positive cases that can be linked over a 14-day period. It was reported that Garrett has five connected cases. The report of Garrett’s cluster comes a week after clusters were identified at Alamahaw-Ossipee Elementary, Grove Park Elementary, and Cummings High School. Overall, 179 students and three staff members were said to be in quarantine on Friday across the school system. Western Alamance Middle School was said to have the highest number of quarantined students on Friday with 31 students forced to miss in-person classes.
