Search Continues in Haywood County for Flood Victims
The search continues for 20 people who remain unaccounted for after flood waters ravaged much of Haywood County on Tuesday. More than 200 people are searching along the Pigeon River in Western North Carolina. The search parties include swift water rescue teams from Greensboro and Winston-Salem. The flood occurred when Tropical Storm Fred dumped more than 10 inches in parts of the western North Carolina mountains. So far, there have been two confirmed deaths caused by the flood.
