Six from Alamance County Win Track State Titles

The Cummings Cavaliers girls’ track team finished as the runner up in the state 2-A championship Saturday, while the Cavalier boys’ team finished as the state’s third-place team. Cummings senior Kendall Jordan went four-for-four, earning state titles in the 300-meter hurdles, the 100-meter hurdles, the long jump and the triple jump. Her teammate, junior Tamesia Pinnix finished as runner-up to Jordan in three of those four events. Other area top performances in Saturday’s meet included a state title for Williams High’s Ryan Motondo in the 3,200-meter run and a state crown for Eastern Guilford’s Zariyah Black in the girls 100-meter 3-A hurdles.
