Student Killed in School Shooting Wednesday in Winston-Salem
One student is dead and another is in custody after a shooting at Mount Tabor High School in Winston Salem Wednesday. Police identified the victim as William Chavis Raynard Miller, Jr. Miller died from a gunshot wound after he was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mount Tabor and nearby Reynolds High School were both on lockdown for much of Wednesday afternoon. The gunman left the school but was apprehended later by police. He is said to also be a student at Mount Tabor Police did not release his name but did confirm that he is a juvenile. The Mount Tabor shooting is the second school shooting this week in our state. On Monday, a student was injured by gunfire at New Hanover High School in Wilmington.
