Substitute Teachers Upset with Agency Contracted to Hire Subs
Several people spoke out at the Alamance Burlington School Board meeting June 28, complaining that the substitute teaching hiring process through Kelly Education Services has been difficult to complete. The school board contracted with Kelly Services in March to handle the system’s substitute teaching staffing needs. Part of the frustration stems from long-time subs having to re-apply for jobs and being required to fill out a lengthy application process. Jeremy Teetor, the school system’s finance officer, told the Alamance News that more than 200 subs have been hired by Kelly Staffing under the new process. The staffing agency has held three open hiring sessions for subs this summer.
