Suspect Wanted in April Green Level Murder Captured in Greensboro
One of Alamance County’s most wanted was arrested yesterday. Officials have been on the lookout for Forty-one-year-old Gar-Yon-Ded-Weh Stepney since April. Yesterday, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office announced that Stepney is now in custody. He was located in Greensboro and arrested with the help of U.S. Marshals. Stepney is facing first degree murder charges in the death of Barney Harris. Harris, a Union County teacher and basketball coach, was shot while apparently trying to break into a drug stash house owned by a known drug cartel. The shootout took place at a trailer park in Green Level on April 8.
