Swepsonville, Mebane are Catalysts for Alamance County Growth
Census data released last week revealed that Alamance County grew by 13.4 percent from 2010 to 2020. The growth places Alamance as the 15th most populous county in the state, moving us up three positions from 20-10. Swepsonville, Mebane and Green Level demonstrated the greatest growth among municipalities in the county. Swepsonville grew by about 112 percent, tallying 2,445 people in the 2020 report. Mebane grew by 56.2 percent, and Green Level’s population increased by 50.1 percent. With Mebane’s growth, it surpassed Graham as the second largest city in Alamance County.
