Teamsters Make Plans to Target Amazon Workers for Union
One of the nation’s largest unions has announced plans to unionize Amazon workers. Representatives from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a union that represents 1.4 million workers, voted on Thursday to make organizing Amazon workers a priority. Amazon is the nation’s second-largest employer. The company, which has sold and delivered a variety of goods for 26 years, has as many as 12,500 workers in North Carolina. It has delivery centers in Colfax and Kernersville and is expected to open another in Whitsett later this year.
