Yadkinville Resident Leads Gibsonville Police on Chase in Stolen Box Truck
Thirty-nine-year-old Kirk Alexander Ferriola of Yadkinville is facing multiple charges after stealing a box truck and leading police in Gibsonville on a chase toward Greensboro. Ferriola was first involved in a wreck in Alamance County and taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center. He left ARMC against medical advice and allegedly stole a yellow box truck from a business near the hospital. At about 4 a.m., officers with the Gibsonville Police saw Ferriola driving the truck without using the headlights. When they attempted a traffic stop, Ferriola fled. The chase went from Burlington Road to Highway 61 to Interstate 40 to Elm-Eugene Street. The truck wrecked at the end of Sebastian Road. At that time Ferriola rammed the truck into a Gibsonville patrol vehicle, pushing it into a Guilford County Sheriff’s vehicle. His list of charges included two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, felony flee to elude arrest, failure to stop for lights and siren, driving while impaired, felony possession of stolen property and reckless driving.
