You Might Be Asked To Remove Your Bird Feeder

And now, we have an apparent pandemic among birds. The North Carolina Wildlife Commission says a mysterious illness that has been spreading through the mid-Atlantic states appears to have arrived in North Carolina. They warn if you come across a dead bird, resist the urge to pick it up unless you are wearing protective gloves. They say there have been cases in Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland and DC, and now North Carolina. There suggestion is to remove bird feeders, because they are guessing that is how the disease is spreading. They say there have not been any cases in humans. The Wildlife folks recommend you remove any bird feeders in your yard for a while so the birds will not be congregating
