Your Unused Luggage Can Help Domestic Violence Victims
A luggage drive is scheduled for Saturday, October 16 at Mount Tabor Methodist Church on Creek Ridge Road in Greensboro. You are encouraged to donate new or gently used luggage that will be used to assist victims of domestic violence. The luggage will be distributed to shelters and crisis centers throughout North Carolina. The luggage can be both practical and symbolic for victims of domestic violence. Those victims often are forced to leave home without their clothing. And while clothing is often donated, the ladies seldom have anything other than a trash bag to put the donated items in. The luggage can also symbolize the hope of associated with moving on with their lives. Luggage can be dropped off between noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 16.
